Canadian firm Esstalion Technologies is set to begin testing its 1.2MW prototype lithium iron energy storage system.

The mobile prototype contains 576 battery modules, manufactured by Sony and using Hydro-Québec's lithium iron phosphate technology.

German lithium storage company Sonnenbatterie’s ees award nominated LiFePO4 storage system aims to provide more affordable solar power to homeowners.

The company’s new Sonnenbatterie eco is available in 4kWh – 16Wh rated capacities in 2kWh increments, and come in both wall and floor-mounted varieties.

Bonn-based SolarWorld launched its second LiFePO4 storage system at this year’s ees exhibition.

The German company's new SunPac LiOn will be available in usable storage from 2 kWh, with the ability to extend modulary in 2 kWh increments up to 10 kWh within one cabinet.

A Washington-based utilities project using lithium-ion batteries has been unveiled in North America by Snohomish County Public Utility District (PUD).

It is the first battery storage system built using the Modular Energy Storage Architecture (MESA) – a non-proprietary set of specifications and standards developed by a consortium of electric utilities and technology suppliers.

Valence secures lithium battery order for UK electric buses

UK-based bus manufacturer Optare has selected US battery maker Valence Technology’s (Valence) lithium batteries for the integration in electric buses.

Optare will install the lithium iron phosphate battery units in 45 buses for bus services in Nottingham, UK. The U-Charge battery series comes in standard Battery Council International sizes.
