A German firm is preparing to launch the world’s first lithium-iron-phosphate energy storage system that can be connected in parallel.

The breakthrough by ASD Automatic Storage Device allows faulty cells – regardless of other cells capacity, internal resistance and health - to be replaced rather than changing the whole system.

German lithium energy storage systems company Sonnenbatterie is set to open a research and development facility in the U.S.

The 5,000 sq. ft. space in Atlanta, Georgia, will house up to 15 engineers tasked with expanding the company’s next generation of smart energy storage devices for homes and businesses.

French battery manufacturer Saft showcased the latest addition to its lithium-ion home storage portfolio in partnership with German inverter manufacturer KACO at the ees exhibition in Munich.

The new Intensium Home 10M 240V cabinet system consists of five lithium-ion modules and boasts a 10 kW rated capability and a 10kWh storage capacity, suitable for both home and commercial installation.

Bavarian Varta Storage has taken the opportunity to unveil its latest lithium-ion storage system, as well as exhibit its entire storage portfolio at this year’s Intersolar Europe.

The company presented two new systems as part of its home storage offering: the ‘engion element 3’has a nominal battery capacity of 3.2 kWh and a system power of 1600 W, while ‘engion element 6’ offers a capacity of 6.4 kWh and 2000W.

German vehicle manufacturer Daimler has signalled its intention to bring inductive charging technology to market with its latest deal.

The strategic partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, will see the company focusing on implementing the U.S. firms technology in its EV and PHEV vehicles.
