Indian generator manufacturer Mahindra Powerol has launched the Leaf DG– a diesel generator shaped as its name suggests, like a leaf.

The design of the genset is intended to make it stand out. It has a curved top to represent a leaf and comes in a range of bright colours to break away from typical black box designs.

The Leaf comes in power ranges of 7.5 kVA, 10 kVA and 15 kVA and claims to improve ease of user experience as well as putting aesthetics high on the agenda.

Ashok Sharma, chief executive of AFS Strategy, Agri & Allied Businesses, said: “We are transforming the diesel generator from a machine into a thing of beauty. The new generator, in addition to easier use and better performance, is in line with the taste and expectations of today's smart and evolving customer."

Mahindra Powerol hopes the design-led move will encourage users to display generators in pride of place instead of hiding them.
