Solar and storage combined in aqueous battery model

Researchers from Ohio State University have merged an aqueous flow battery and a solar cell into a single device.
The team, led by Yiying Wu, claim to have achieved 20% energy saving using a redesigned dye-sensitised solar cell which converts lights into electrons to supplement the voltage stored in the lithium-anode portion of the battery.
