Scottish rental company Aggreko and Bresson AS Nigeria have signed an agreement to supply over 250MW to support the Nigeria electricity market within nine months.

The agreement will be sited in industrial clusters across the country and the 250MW will be broken into various stages of 10MW, 15MW and 20MW. The power supply in Nigeria has shown to be inadequate in areas of high activities. The project will compliment the Federal Government’s efforts to improve power generation, distribution and consumption in the country.

The agreement comprises an additional embedded option of a 20MW project aiming to serve the neighbourhood of Magboro. Bresson is currently planning a 90MW power plant in Magboro, which is designed for supplying to the national grid. The company also hopes to bring its Magboro Plant configured on 2GE LM 6000 for commissioning in 2015.

Bresson plans to add a total of 500MW within the next twelve months to its daily generation capacity through emergency power generation in areas of high electricity demands to overcome power shortages. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the partners was signed in Paris.
