Calnetix increases flywheel capacity
California based Calnetix Technologies recently announced the addition of a higher capacity model to its line of clean ride-through backup power systems.
The new VYCON Direct Connect XXE Kinetic ESS delivers over 300kW and 6,000 kilowatt-seconds of energy storage to provide power protection for large critical processes such as data centres.
Working with a UPS system, the VDC flywheel is claimed to provide a lower total cost of ownership than UPS systems running on batteries.
CEO of Calnetix Technologies, Vatche Artinian said: "In working closely with our UPS partners and end-customers, we found there was a need to expand our product line to provide customers who operate larger mission-critical applications with more energy storage capacity and higher power density.”
Calnetix’ VDC flywheels are certified and integrated by major three-phase UPS manufacturers such as Eaton, Emerson and Socomec.
