British fuel cell developer Intelligent Energy has been named as a 2015 Gold Edison Award Winner for its portable fuel cell Upp.

Upp, the company’s first commercially available consumer product, is a USB-compatible hydrogen fuel cell used to charge mobile phones, eReaders and the like.

The cell is connected to a hydrogen cartridge offering up to five charges before it needs to be replaced.

Products submitted to the Edison Award are judged by a panel of more than 3000 business executives and academics, and are evaluated on the overall concept, value, delivery and impact.

Emerson Network Power has been awarded an industry accolade for its recent work with the Trinergy Cube UPS solution.

Judges from Frost & Sullivan highlighted Emerson’s “customer-centric approach to product development and peerless focus on innovation” as they awarded Emerson the 2014 EMEA Frost & Sullivan Award for Technology Leadership prize.

Trinergy Cube is the first static UPS able of hot-scaling up to 3MW of power in one unit and 24MW in parallel connection.

The cube is the most recent addition to the company’s Trinergy line of high-facility UPS systems intended for large data centres.
